Blog is now found at

Hi everyone,
I am no longer very active on this site to give free stock picks for traders.  I am now focused on investors, which will help more Americans learn how to make more money and prepare for retirement.  Find my blog for investors at:

Market Timing University

Hi Everyone,
I am in the process of setting up a new website to teach people the principles of investing for bigger profits.  I have a basic site up now, but I will have a much better web site in a few months.

Google (GOOG) missed on revenue and earnings and the stock dropped $60/share -- Ouch!  I would exit immediately if I owned any.  This is likely to keep dropping further for a little while.  This is typical of when a growth company shows any sign of trouble -- it gets beat up immediately.

Google is still a great company, but I don't want to own it until they sort things out with their Motorola acquisition.  At some point, it will probably be a good buy, but probably not for a matter or weeks or months.

Facebook stock

Facebook stock is down more than 50% since its IPO.  Stay away!  I still don't want to buy it.  Until I see the company doing better financially, I don't want to buy it, in spite of huge future potential.

BBQ Sauce

Hal’s Grubsteak was a restaurant located in Yuba City, California that has since closed. The restaurant was very well-known to locals as having the best BBQ sauce in town. During its hay-day it was the “in” place to grab a bite for lunch or dinner. Their BBQ Sauce is a bit different that your typical recipe and it still quite a coveted flavor.
Since the restaurant is closed, maybe someone has the exact recipe out there, but if you are looking for a copycat replacement recipe give ours a try.
Hal’s Grubsteak Copycat BBQ Sauce Recipe
1 can of peaches with juice
1 cup ketchup
2/3 cup white vinegar
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 1/3 cups brown sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 teaspoons garlic salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
In a large mixing bowl combine together all of the above ingredients in the order they are given in the recipe. If you are not using the sauce immediately, you can refrigerate it for up to 3 days. This sauce is great brushed onto chicken, steaks, ribs and especially hamburgers!

Next time you are looking for a sauce with a unique flavor all its own, give Hals Grubsteak BBQ Sauce a try. Who knows? It may become a favorite of yours, just like the residents in Yuba City.

LinkedIn (LNKD) has not followed through the way it is supposed to, so I sold it and bought today instead.  Priceline (PCLN) recently took a big hit in its stock price for barely missing its earnings estimate, and it is now at very attractive prices. It could easily climb another $150-200 in the next 6-10 months.  Also, in the last several days, the stock has steadily climbed.

For an excellent article detailing reasons why Priceline is such a good buy here, go to:

reversal in the S&P mini's

LinkedIn soundly beat revenue forecast today and is up big on after-hours trading.  It looks great with steadily increasing revenue and earnings.  Count me in!  I'm buying LinkedIn tomorrow.

Stocks I'm Hunting

I like the following stocks, I am just waiting for the right time to buy them to hold for several months: (PCLN), RedHat (RHT).

I also like (ACOM) but they just jumped 20% based on buy-out rumors so I don't want to buy them right here.  If the rumors are false it will come back down.

I will make other stock picks available as I see them.  Netflix continues to be a good short.  Short the bounces.

I don't like the way Netflix is acting right now.  It has pulled back hard in the past few days.  I have reconsidered where the stop should be and recommend we move it up to $105/share from the previous recommendation at $90.
